Welcome to Tales from a Tent, an exploration of the UK, camping and wild camping wherever possible!

I’ll provide a fresh take on the gorgeous wilderness on offer, from deservedly popular regions like the Lake District, to underrated gems like the Outer Hebrides. Here you can find short tales from my journeys.

Camping has always been one of my favourite holidays, having recently discovered wild camping as an especially enjoyable challenge. Both grant deep respect to the environment and enable you to fully appreciate the grandeur of the landscape.

When camping, nothing rivals the sensation of awaking to a crisp dawn, energised by wondrous and raw surroundings. There’s a definitive power to embracing the rhythms of nature, allowing yourself to fall into rejuvenating diurnal patterns. Days of outdoor exertion always feel more rewarding, making slumbering whilst ensconced in the delicious cosiness of a tent more refreshing.

Complementing several advice pages, this blog aims to transform my adventures into narrative, hopefully both entertaining and informing. If seeking more detail on a specific area, try searching this section for inspiration!

These encompass various locations across the UK, and include day trips accessible from the London area.
